No Tutoring Agency Commissions!
What does it mean that there are no tutoring agency commissions?
Tutor Around app is not an agency. If you prefer to go through a tuition agency, tutor agency, Au pair or a a nanny agency, we can provide this service. Instead if you want to do it on your own, use our app since our app does not take a commission from users. 100% of the money you earn from Students goes entirely to you. If you decide to become a member to be able to access all the features of the App, you can choose between three different membership levels giving you full access for 3 months, 6 months or 1 year.
What is the cost of Tutor Around?
There is no charge to create a Tutor Around account. It is also possible to have free dual accounts as both a Tutor and a Student. We understand that you may want to provide tutoring services in one field of expertise, but might like to take lessons in another field to strengthen a skill set or learn something new. Tutors can publish their profiles and generate interest among Students for free. Students can search for online Tutors or nearby Tutors and filter by selecting desired subjects, also for free. Additionally, your free account also permits you to view Tutors’ pricing details and see their availability. To access all the features of the App, however, a paid membership is required. We offer three Memberships levels, 3 months, 6 months and year long and you can cancel at any time.
Why pay for Tutor Around membership?
In order to send or view an in-App message, a Tutor or Student must register and select a membership level. Regardless of having a membership or not, however, all registered users receive push notifications for received messages. If you decide that you want to view these messages in the app, sign up for a membership. If you are not ready to pay for a membership just yet, no problem.
Only pay when you are actively ready to: view messages; pin a Tutor; create a job posting as a Student; view the Student job board, or pin a Student’s job. However, keep in mind that having a membership helps with ranking, since we want to prioritise those actively providing tutoring services and show those users higher in the search results. With membership Tutors can find and apply for tutoring jobs online and locally, that allows them to work as a freelance Tutor and provide more affordable tutoring services.

Okay, avoid a tuition agency, but what is included with Tutor Around membership?
All Tutor Around memberships include dual accounts. A user can have both a Tutor account and a Student account without additional fees. This doubles the value for users. As a Student, you can also create a request for tutoring and post it on the job board for other registered members to view. Interested Tutors can pin the job, which sends notification of the Tutor’s interest to the Student. This prompts interested Students to view a Tutor’s profile and message them if they are interested in making contact. Therefore, it is up to the Student to send the first message, permitting Students to ignore notifications they are not interested in. Students do not have to create a job posting. Instead, they can do all the searching themselves by viewing public Tutor profiles. Having a membership can also impact a Tutor’s ranking in the search results, since members are more likely to respond quickly to messages. Why do some Tutors have a flag?
A gold flag indicates that a Tutor is an Ambassador Tutor. Ambassador Tutors are instructors who are highly qualified and have extensive experience in a field of expertise. In addition to academic subjects, Ambassador Tutors are available both online and in-person for skills as varied as childcare, photography, music and voice, cookery, as well as technology, finance and marketing and soft skills such as team dynamics, leadership and time management, for example. How do you become an Ambassador Tutor?
Ambassador Tutor status is obtained by application. Candidates submit a resumé or CV with supporting documentation which is reviewed and verified by the Tutor Around management. Promising candidates are invited to participate in an online interview. Successful candidates receive Ambassador status for life with no additional fees unless they choose to change their profile with Tutor Around. In that case there is a nominal administrative fee. Many tutoring opportunities exist on Tutor Around for those with Ambassador status.
